Yoga Sutra 1.2; Yoga Citta-Vritti Nirodha…Yoga is the stilling of the changing states of the mind.
There are eight steps to salvation according to the great Indian sage Patanjali. In the ancient text, the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali describes in detail the keys to our consciousness which unlock our conditioned minds and unite us with our highest power. The ascending ladder of practice is climbed one step at a time and with practice, patience and perseverance we can be liberated from our patterns of physical and mental suffering.
We start with the most physical and refine toward the more subtle experience of working with the mind and energetic body. We develop awareness of our behavior, body and breath. Then we move into calming the senses, refining concentration, meditation to reach Samadhi (the experience of Oneness).
