Your feet are already on the path….Your Dharma is the Way, it is the journey of life. Each of us has a unique life story which we are creating in every moment. Wherever we are and whatever we are doing is the path. Along this expedition of life we will experience moments of exquisite beauty and joy, as well as, physical/emotional pain and suffering. We are forged in fire and how we handle our misery and struggles determines our ability to grow stronger and evolve through our life lessons. It also helps us appreciate the beauty and impermanence of the natural world.
We are writing our story in each passing moment, complete with an inner-narrative. In yoga we are encouraged to focus on what is happening now and cultivate unbiased awareness. As a witness to our story, we can see when we are in need of a scene, plot or character change. If we believe we are limited to the character we’ve created for ourselves, then we are operating from ego and believe the story is happening to us instead of coming from us. We spend much time looking over our shoulder at the past, each time the view becomes more distorted and we miss what’s happening now. If we spend much time projecting what we think will happen in the future, again we are looking through a flawed lens at something that hasn’t happened and we miss the ground that is under our feet right now. Our ruminations of the past and expectations of the future become the baggage and burden that weighs us down.
Your Karma is your Dharma. Your action is your path. Your practice is your life. If you wish to reach your fullest potential, start right here and now. Stop seeking and start being, the path isn’t linear. The path is NOW.
